SONG JOURNEY - MASTERS (Behind The Song) I wrote the song on a beat from an old friend of mine, I was choosing beats and the hard kicks and keys got to me. I wrote the whole song at one go (lol), I imagined the crowd responding as I wrote. You have to see it before you have it, you know the drill. You create your own life from your mind, so master your mind. Self-mastery has always been an inherent value of African peoples, we find this in mystery schools, mountain initiation traditions and girls' reed initiations. This is a quality we as black people commonly lack today having shifted our purpose to survival under forceful circumstances, yet we still need to attend to ourselves. And so in honour of restoring this all important but lost African trait of Self-Mastery and Godhood and in honour of Black History we raise our solemn fists to all #Masters who have shone the light. We're Black and loving it! #HIGHERHEIGHTSEP
